For 6 days, every June, on the campus of the Fountain Valley School of Colorado, K-12 teachers and administrators from across North America learn how to develop the leadership competencies of their students.
gcLi Scholarship Award
The GARDNER CARNEY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (gcLi) is proud to announce a $10,000 gcLi Scholarship award, offered in collaboration with $10,000 from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, to the Masters in School Leadership Program at PennGSE.
In 1995, Gardner Lynch Gordon Carney died in a kayaking accident in his senior year at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His family, Jim, Laurie and Winston Carney, established a restricted endowment at the Fountain Valley School in Colorado, in his memory.

At the gcLi, we have found that leadership can be taught.
Virtually every young person can learn the skills, habits, and commitments that define good leaders.
It all depends upon what the teacher knows.
