Dr. Heidi Kasevich

Head of History Department, Nightingale-Bamford School

Head of History Department Heidi Kasevich has been teaching at the Nightingale-Bamford School since 2005. She has led trips to India, started Time Regained, an award-winning student journal of current affairs, and founded popular electives, World Religions and Fragile Goddesses. Dr. Kasevich is currently designing and implementing a K-12 leadership program, which includes her Guide to Giving philanthropy curriculum that is accessible to educators nationwide (on the 92Y website). Prior to her tenure at Nightingale, Dr. Kasevich taught at Berkeley Carroll, Dalton, Cooper Union, and New York University.

Most recently, she served as Director of Académie de Paris, a summer study abroad program for high school students sponsored by Oxbridge Academic Programs. She received her BA in French literature from Haverford College, studied at the Sorbonne and Institute d’Études Politiques, and received her doctorate in French Studies and Modern European History from New York University. She is a graduate of the 2012 gcLi Leadership Lab.
