After ten successful years as the Executive Director of the GARDNER CARNEY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (gcLi), Dr. Ted Fish has submitted his resignation, effective June 30th.  Leadership Lab 2019 (LL’19), our fifteenth consecutive lab, will be his last. Ted’s tenure leading the gcLi has been dynamic, characterized by systematic institutional growth and clarity of mission and purpose. He leaves behind a thriving Institute; we are grateful to him for his important contributions on many levels and wish him great success in his next endeavor.
We are delighted to announce that Jeremy LaCasse, currently the gcLi Dean of Faculty, has accepted the appointment as Executive Director, effective July 1st. Jeremy served as the gcLi’s first Executive Director and has been with the Institute from its inception. A Graduate Fellow of the Klingenstein Center of Teachers College, Columbia University, Jeremy has a broad experience in independent education, having successfully served as a Dean of Students, Division Head and Head respectively at several independent schools throughout the country. He is currently the Assistant Headmaster at the Taft School. We look forward to his leadership.Â
The Gardner Carney Leadership Institute is recognized as a premier professional development opportunity for independent schoolteachers and administrators nationwide and globally. The Institute was founded in 2000, on the belief that each child has the potential to be a leader and that leadership can and must be taught.  Teachers need to cultivate leadership in all students. Combining cutting edge brain science, psychometrics, neuropsychology leadership studies and social and emotional intelligence, the gcLi has developed a disciplined method and practice of teaching: the gcLi’s Pedagogy of Leadership®.Â
